I have a video of Don Alejandro explaining the directions during a fire ceremony. I will watch it again when I get a chance and get back to you on this one!

I appreciate that. Learning the significance of directions of our spiritual birthdays will probably help shed more light on chosen destinies.

I am glad you are planning a trip to Miami. It would make it very convenient for me to attend.

Hi Daniel,
Just wish to tell you how much I appreciate the pictures you include in your blog. I follow the Tzolkin calendar everyday since 2006. My original teacher and guide was Ian Lungold and his work, the mysteries revealed though his work, have inspired me to create a daily guide, a very simple way, to allign with the energies of the Sacred Tzolkin. What I'd like to share with you is what I know about the Oracle of Directions. Just knowing you are a North, white, energy I feel certain you spend a lot of time in your head. This is a gift! It's my experience that North energies are misunderstood a lot because they tend to be so analitical and precise. Emotions seem to be distilled from their thinking but I believe it may be because of their direct access to the Universal mind. Doesn't leave much room for debating Ultimate Truth. Because how energies seem to work together I have found that the Oracle of Directions seems to be right on. Briefly, North energies find support and comfort from East, Red energies, Surprise and mystery form West, Blue/Black energies, challenge and strength from South, yellow energies and guidance and empowerment from energies with the same North, white energy.
I am 11 Men, West, blue energy and my husband is 13 Cib, South, yellow energy and our energies together provide support and comfort. Beleive me when I say my project creating a Daily Guide to the Energies of the Sacred Mayan Calendar would never have come to fruition without his support . I hope this helps shed a bit more light on your question. I absolutely love alligning with the Divne Flow of Creation on a daily basis. It's been quite the ride. Blessings on your journey! Karen

Where did you come up with that calculation? Your sign is not actually "Jaguar". The animals in Maya astrology serve to represent the essence of the energy of each sign. The Jaguar corresponds with the Nawal: IX. (Pronounced 'eesh')
Each "sign" has a corresponding direction- (20 signs, 5 for each direction)
NORTH, (Balam Majakuta'j in Quiche) corresponds with Ix, Tijax, Iq, Keme and Tz'i.

Here is some of what North represents:
The North's color is White, it's element is Air.
The place where the magic of the Universe descends, that it’s strong wind should come and purify our spirits, that it cleanse our minds, and heal our bodies.
Send me your Birthdate and I will check and see if you are IX.

In addition to what has been said, the following might be useful:

EAST--Initiation, emergence, individual, creativity, fertility.
NORTH--Separation, sacrifice, objective, materialization, aridity, death.
WEST--Cooperation, adjustment, collective, communication, decline, decadence.
SOUTH--Connection, feeling, subjective, emotion, indifferent.
